Islamabad June 3, 2008: PML-N President Mr. Shabaz Sharif today had a luncheon meeting with the PPP Co-Chairman Senator Asif Ali Zardari in Zardari House today.

The PML-N President was accompanied with Khawaja Asif and Mr. Ishaq Dar. The PPP Co-Chairman was assisted by Finance Minister Syed Naveed Qamar, Law Minister Farooq Naek and Information Minister Sherry Rehman.

The two sides discussed issues relating to the forthcoming budget and overall political situation in the country.

The meeting decided to set up a joint committee to examine the Constitutional Package and make recommendations. The Constitutional amendment package will be placed before the Parliament after the budget.

Senator Asif Ali Zardari congratulated Mr. Shahbaz Sharif on his election to the Punjab Provincial Assembly and as prospective Chief Minister of the Province. The PPP Co-Chairman assured Mr. Shahbaz Sharif that the PPP will support him as the Provincial Chief Minister and strengthen the provincial coalition government.

The meeting lasted about three hours.
