Islamabad June 18, 2008: PPP Co-Chairman
Senator Asif Ali Zardari and PML-N Quaid Mian Nawaz Sharif today met in
Lahore along with their aides and discussed a host of political issues
facing the country.
The PPP side led by Senator Asif Ali Zardari
comprised of the Party’s Secretary General Jehangir Bader, Advisor to
Prime Minister on Interior Rehman Malik, MNAs Fauzia Habib and Rukhsana
Bangash, Provincial Senior Minister Raja Riaz and Mr. Aziz Chan. The PML-N
side led by its Quaid Main Nawaz Sharif comprised of Chief Minister
Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif, Makhdoom Javed Hashmi, Khawaja Asif,
Zulfikar Khosa, Ahsan Iqbal and Khwaja Saads Rafiq.
The luncheon meeting was held at the Raiwind
residence of PML-N Quaid Mian Nawaz Sharif.
The two sides discussed issue relating to
the constitutional package, the restoration of judges, strengthening the
Parliament and issues relating to the coalition government besides the
overall political situation in the country.
It was also agreed that such meetings should
be held more often to thrash out outstanding issues.
